Base Requirements

Our childrens wooden climbing frames  and playhouses will make the perfect addition to any backyard.

This item is for outdoor domestic use only, Not suitable for children under 36 months. Children under this age may fall off and not be able to sufficiently support themselves Adult supervision recommended at all times

Do not position the play system over concrete, asphalt or any other hard surface or near to any water hazards.

Suitable bases for children’s play equipment include Play Bark, Rubber Chippings, Rubber Mulch and Rubber Matting. The base is not included in the product or installation and it is the customers responsibility that they have an adequate base before purchasing the playhouse.

Play Bark
Using play bark underneath your children’s climbing frame is one alternative if you do not wish to use the grass. This is a very inexpensive surface solution. Which can cover quite a large area. Choosing this as your surface for the climbing frame will mean that you need to top it up every so often.

Rubber Chippings
Rubber will provide a softer landing surface for children. Made from recycled car tyres. Rubber chippings are a low-maintenance, cost-effective type of surface area. With rubber chipping, you will find that they cause less mess as they are a lot more heavyweight, stopping the chips from blowing away.

Rubber Mulch
Rubber mulch is similar to the chippings. However, it has been bonded together to make a completely flat surface. As it is a flat sheet type it means you will be required to use less, and there is hardly any maintenance or topping up. However, you will find that puddles will appear after rainfall, which will need to be wiped away before play.

Rubber Matting
Using gripped rubber mats is a quick solution that will provide you with a safe surface that your children can play on. It is easy to install, as there is no digging or ground preparation required.

It is recommended that you place the play system on a level surface at least 2m from any structure or obstruction such as a fence, garage, house, overhanging branches, laundry lines or electrical wires.

Do not overtighten nuts and screws as this may cause them to shear and potentially cause structural failure.
