Power Sheds is among 10 fastest-growing private firms in UK

It is the latest accolade for Power Sheds, a firm which was only set up in 2019.

It has ranked 6th nationally in the FEBE Growth 100 list which recognises the UK’s fastest-growing founder-led private businesses.

In addition, Power Sheds, based at the Euroway Trading Estate near the M606, is the top Yorkshire company making it onto the list.

In order to be considered, businesses must have sales between £3m and £200m, have been trading for at least three years and have turned an operating profit in the latest financial year.

Founded by Jack Sutcliffe and Simon Hobson, Power Sheds has grown to become a leading UK manufacturer of wooden garden buildings.

The company produces a diverse range of products including sheds, summerhouses, log cabins, and bike sheds – and prides itself on being a benchmark for quality and durability.

Mr Sutcliffe told the Telegraph & Argus: “In just four years, Power Sheds has experienced remarkable growth.

“Starting with only two founders, the company has expanded its workforce to nearly 80 employees who are responsible for manufacturing 700 garden buildings each week.

“This growth rate is particularly noteworthy, with an average annual rate of 280 per cent over the past three years.”

In August last year, the T&A reported how Power Sheds had attracted the attention of timber industry giant BSW Timber, who acquired shares in the company.

Mr Sutcliffe added: “The strategic partnership has provided Power Sheds with the necessary resources and support to sustain its growth trajectory. With projected revenues exceeding £15 million, the company’s success is poised to continue.

“Looking ahead, Power Sheds has ambitious plans for diversifying its product range and expanding into international markets.”

The latest award was sees companies ordered by compound annual growth rate in sales over the last three financial years.

FEBE founder Charlotte Quince, said: “We’re so excited to publish this year’s Growth 100. So many people think that business founders just ‘get lucky’ or think of an idea one day and are successful the next.

“But we know that the journey to success is anything but smooth.

“The Growth 100 celebrates those who have embraced the entrepreneurial roller coaster and who are now thriving as some of the fastest-growing brands in the country.”

The Growth 100 annual list shines a light on the fastest-growing privately owned businesses in the country, where the founder or founders are still involved. It is run by FEBE, the club built for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs.
